Dorothy Larson, age 89, died at the Madison Community Hospital on December 5, 2007. Dorothy Rowena Wynia was born on January 2, 1918 at Lester, IA to Frank and Alice (Van Whye) Wynia. She married Laurence Larson at Luverne, MN December 22,1940. He preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by four sons - Bill (Coleen) and Jim (Jan) both of Madison, Tom (Pam) of Sioux Falls and George of Brandon. Two daughters - Marilyn (Blaine) {Peterson of Bloomington, MN and Carol Larson of Madison. 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents- stepfather Neal Dodeward, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and on great grandchild in infancy. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at St Thomas Aquinas Church with Rev Robert Vinslauski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She grew up in Rock Valley, IA. They farmed near Inwood, IA until 1957 when they moved to Sioux Falls. In 1961 they moved to farm near Ramona and in 1978 they moved to Madison. She worked at Wenks Produce and in housekeeping at Bethel Home for many years. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, American Legion Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors. There will be a parish scripture service to be followed by a Catholic Daughter Rosary at 7:00 pm on Friday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel.
