Natalie Southmayd, age 92, died at the Madison Community Hospital on February 24, 2012. Natalie June McKeachie was born at Yankton, SD on June 24, 1919. She married E.A. Southmayd at Yankton on July 27, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1994. She is survived by two sons - Jerry (Lori) of Pella, IA and Roger of Madison. Two grandchildren - Scott and Mike. two great grandsons. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev Terry Knudson officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. She grew up in Mission Hill, SD graduating from Gayville High School in 1937, She worked at WNAX Radio and the Yankton Woolworth Store. She moved to Winfred in 1942 and to Madison in 1945. In 1954 she went to work in the business office at the Madison Community Hospital for 32 years. She enjoyed music and playing the piano for her own enjoyment and at a various events. She has been a resident at the Ramona Assisted Living since 2008. The family will be present at 5:00 PM on Sunday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
