Eunice Crosby, age 83, died at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls on January 4, 2012. Eunice Jeanette Mehlum was born on August 9, 1928 at Dell Rapids to Julius and Emma (Bortnem) Mehlum. She married Galen Crosby on March 4, 1946 in Sioux Falls. She is survived by her husband - Galen of Madison. One son - Eugene (Ruth) and two daughters - Karen (Ken) Becker and Patricia (Jerry) Kreul all of Madison. 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. One brother - James Mehlum and one sister - Beverly Kraft all of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters and a daughter - Cheryl Garwood in 2009. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev Dirk Hagmaier officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Queen Cemetery in Nunda, SD. She grew up in Nunda and Dell Rapids. She worked as a telephone operator in Nunda and Sioux Falls. She also was a clerk at Gambles and Coast to Coast Stores in Madison. She was involved with PTA and Campfire Girls when the children were young. She was a member of the Ladies Ikes, Prairie Village Auxiliary and an avid bowler. The family will be present at 5:00 PM on Friday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
