Clarence (Cal) Hansen, age 87, died on September 16, 2011 at Bethel Lutheran Home. He was born on August 8, 1924 at Edwards, NY to Clarence and Mary (Atanasu) Hansen. He married Betty Harris at Champagne, Ill on March 4, 1944. She preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by two sons - Edward (Sharon) of Madison and Mark of Auburn, WA. One daughter - Esther Hansen of Sioux Falls. Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. One brother - Patrick Burkett of Bend, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son - Walter and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev Sandra Larson officiating. Burial will be in Hill City Cemetery, Hill City, SD. He grew up in Edwards, NY. He served in the US Army during WWII. After the service he received a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois. He worked throughout the US as an electrical engineer. They lived in Hills City, SD before moving to Madison in 1997. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM on Monday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge.
