Jesse Potter, age 79, died at his residence under the care of Madison Hospice. He was born on December 19, 1931 at Winfred, SD to Glen and Alice (Winegard) Potter. He married Joyce Reed at St Paul, MN on November 3, 1949. He is survived by his wife -Joyce of Ramona. One son - Dennis (Mary) of Port Townson, WA. Four daughters - Linda Potter and Lynell (Peter) Evenecko both of Sparks NV, Glennda (Rick) Kirk and Irene (Robert Bobzien) Potter both of Gold Canyon, AZ. 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. One sister - Margaret Stevens of Tucson, AZ and one brother Leonard Potter of Presho. SD. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at United Methodist Church in Madison with Rev Ryan Mutzenberger officiating. Inurnment will be in the Winfred Cemetery, Winfred, SD. He grew up and attended school in Carthage, SD. They farmed in the Carthage area before moving to Rowland Heights, CA in 1952 where he worked as a tool & die maker. They lived in Virginia City and to Elko, NV where he retired in 1998 and they moved to Ramona. He coached little league baseball, loved to hunt and fish. He was a volunteer fireman. They have been wintering in Wickenberg, AZ. The family will be present at 7:30 PM on Tuesday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
