Dolores Raethz, age 83, died at her residence under the care of Madison Hospice on February 1, 2011. Dolores Ann Walker was born at Faulkton, SD on November 21, 1927. She married Alvin Raethz at Wecota, SD on September 5, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1987. She is survived by one son - Kelly (Dar Algra) of Madison and four daughters - Virginia (Les) Heidelberger of Dell Rapids, SD, Barbara (Royce) Luckey of Hartford, SD, Gloria Raethz of Sioux Falls and Nancy (Pete) Conn of Colony WY. Four brothers - Charles Walker of Chelsea, SD,, Alan Walker of Ipswich, SD, Denis Walker of Wecota, SD and Gale Walker of Parkston, SD Two sisters - Carole Walker of Faulkton and Diane Brist of Aberdeen. 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister, 3 infant sons and one grand son. Memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the United Methodist Church with Rev Ryan Mutzenberger officiating. Inurnment will be in Wecota Cemetery, Wecota, SD. She grew up in Wecota/Cresbard area graduating from Wecota High School. She taught country school. She lived in the area for several years also spending time in Plankington, Chamberlain and Nebraska before moving to Madison in 1986. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and woodworking. She also played harmonica with the Harmonikats.
