Norma Schladweiler, age 89, formerly of Madison, died at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in Huron on December 13, 2010. Norma Gladys Locken was born on July 31, 1921 at Werner, ND to Henry and Nora (Hunstad) Locken. She married Clarence Schladweiler at Farmer, SD on April 20, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1990. She is survived by three sons - John (Kathy) of Mason City, IA; Peter (Sharon) of Las Vegas, NV, Karl (Nancy) of Madison. Three daughters - Linda (Gerald) Stangl of Stillwater, OK, Elizabeth (Henry) Oyoumick of Unalakleet, AK, Judith (Craig) Rearick of Bonilla, SD. 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 17, 2010 at St Thomas Aquinas Church in Madison with Rev Robert Vinslauski officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery. She grew up in Bath, SD and graduated from Aberdeen High School. She attended Northern State Teachers College and latter worked as a secretary for the Aberdeen High School principal. The moved to Madison in 1945 and latter to a farm in 1950. She worked as a secretary and book keeper for their farm service and fertilizer business and Terra Chemical Company retiring in 1981. She has been a resident at Violet Tschetter Memorial Home since 2003. She was a member of the St Thomas Altar Society. Parish scripture service will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
