Dolores “Dee” Drew, age 87, died at Golden Living Heathcare Center on December 12, 2009. Dolores Zita DeVaney was born on March 27, 1922 on a farm by Dell Rapids, SD to William and Mary (Barry) DeVaney. She married Grant Drew at Madison on May 18, 1951. He preceded her in death in 1998. She is survived by two brothers - Jerry DeVaney of Riverton, WY and Pat DeVaney of Seattle, WA and three sisters - Fidelis (Ern) Haviland of Sioux Falls, Rose Mary Hyland of Madison and Sharon (Marlin) Pedersen of Gregory, SD She was also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers Francis, Mark and Tom DeVaney. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Weiland Funeral Chapel with Rev Robert Vinslasuski officiating. Burial will be in St Thomas Cemetery. She attended the McGillivary rural school near Junius before moving to a farm South of Rutland where she graduated from Rutland High School in 1940. She moved to Renton, WA where she lived until moving back to Madison in 2007. There will be a Parish Scripture service at 7:00 PM on Monday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
