Dorothy Feistner

Dorothy Feistner, age 90, died at Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls on September 3, 2009. Dorothy Deloris Riedel was born on April 29, 1919 at Ramona to Emil and Caroline (Thurow) Riedel. She married Ervin Feistner St John Lutheran Church at Ramona on December 21, 1937. He preceded her in death in 1991. She is survived by two sons - Sam (Vonnie) of Litchfiled, MN and Dean (Deb) of Madison. Five daughters - Sylvia (Henry) Painter of Gilcrest, CO, Elaine (Ron) Keenihan of Sioux Falls, SD. Lois (Bob) Christensen of Townsend, CO, Iris (Gary) Schultz of Canton, Connie (Jim) Mader of Sioux Falls, SD, 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Two sisters - Myrle Sederstrom of Ramona and Caroline Hagemann of Marion. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother - Gordon. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 7, 2009 at Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church with Rev Tony Stockman officiating. Burial will be in St John Cemetery, Ramona, SD. She grew up on a farm in Concord Township, rural Ramona. She was a former Sunday School Supervisor at St John Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the church quilters. She loved the Lord, family and children. The family requests memorials be directed to the Samaritan Purse or Good Shepherd Free Lutheran Church in Madison. There will be a prayer service at 6:00 PM on Sunday at Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
