Bernice Dragseth, age 97, died at Bethel Lutheran Nursing Home on June 25, 2009. Bernice Norma Stenson was born on December 26, 1911 at Oldham, SD to Lars and Betsy (Odegaard) Stenson. She married Edwin Dragseth at Madison on March 21, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by two daughters- Mary (Dean) VanDerWerf of Minneapolis, MN and Sonya (Dave) Thayer of Wentworth. eight Grandchildren and two great grandchildren, sons-in-law, John Stewart of Minneapolis, MN and Tom Kemp of Cerritos, CA. She was also preceded in death by her parents. two daughters - Cindy in 1980 and Judy in 2009, five brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 29, 2009 at Lake Madison Lutheran Church with Revs Gary Lissy and Conrad Krahling officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She grew up in Oldham graduating from Oldham High School in 1930. They farmed in LeRoy Township until moving to Madison 1990. She was a member of Lake Madison Lutheran Church and the Care and Share Club. There will be a prayer service at 5:00 PM on Sunday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
