Lorraine Alice Dumke, age 87, died at Sanford Medical Center on May 8, 2009. Lorraine Schoenefeld was born on November 27, 1921 at Wentworth, SD to William and Ana (Warns) Schoenefeld. She married Herbert Dumke at Wentworth, SD on June 21, 1942. He preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by two sons - Ted (Sue) of Yankton and Monte (Susan) of Hartford, SD. Two daughters - Shelia (Bud) Gerry of Wentworth and Sandy Dumke of Crooks, SD. 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. One brother - Lloyd Schoenefeld of Clear Lake, SD and two sisters - Neva Wussow of Alexandria, MN and Arla Elverud of Cornelius, OR. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2009 at St Peter Lutheran Church in Wentworth with Rev Dwaine Doremus officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Wentworth. She grew up near Wentworth where she attended school. She lived there all of her life. She was a member of St Peter’s Quilters, Lutheran Women Missionary League, taught Sunday School and was a member of the St Peter Choir. Memorials are to be directed to: Lutheran’s For Life and Mainstreet Living. The family will be present from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
