Darlene Mader, age 69, died at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls on March 19, 2009. Darlene Esther Strom was born on June 18, 1939 at Madison to Ernest and Gunhilde (Hjelle) Strom. She graduated from Orland High School in 1957 and attended Augustana College. She spent her life caring for family, friends and numerous acquaintances. She is survived by two sons - Wayne (Kristi) of Hartford and Tim (Ann) of Garretson and two daughters - Kim (Brian) Kern of Madison and Lori (John Wingle) Mader of Sioux Falls. Ten grandchildren. Three sisters - Patricia Hansen of Salem, Ernestine Price of Luling, LA, and Dolores Walter of Ft Worth, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers - Daniel and David. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 22, 2009 at St Peter Lutheran Church, Orland Township with Rev Terry Knudson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 PM on Saturday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
