Emily Brozik, age 92, died at Golden Living Center on February 8, 2009. Emily Marlene Lopour was born on June 26, 1916 in Gregory County, SD to Emil and Anna (Rada) Lopour. She married Joe Brozik at Burke, SD on May 17, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1995. She is survived by one son - Marlin (Linda) of Madison and two grandsons- Michael and Christopher. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son and a daughter in infancy and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Weiland Funeral Chapel with Rev Marilyn Spurrell officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Bohemian National Cemetery in Gregory. She grew up in Gregory where she graduated from high school in 1935. She worked as a housekeeper in Omaha and Washington DC and was a riveter at a airplane factory in Omaha during W.W.II. They farmed near Dixon, SD until 1972 when they retired to Gregory and in 1983 they moved to Madison. She was a 50 year member of the Rosebud Rebekah Lodge #119 of Gregory.
