Arvilla Show, age 97, died at the Madison Community Hospital on February 4, 2009. Arvilla Blanche Potter was born on January 3, 1912 at New Hampton, Iowa to Lindon and Rose (Schnurr) Potter. She married Donald Show at Madison on February 2, 1932. He preceded her in death in 2001. She is survived by two sons - Ronald (Maxine) of Palmdale, CA, Dalton of Tripp, SD. One daughter - Nancy (Larry) Hyink of Worthington, MN. Eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son - Delmer in 2005, a grandson, three brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Winfred United Church of Christ with Rev Bryce Hecht officiating. Burial will be in Winfred Cemetery. She grew up in winfred graduating from Winfred High School. She attended Eastern State Normal (Dakota State University). She farmed along with her husband by Winfred for 45 years until retiring and moving to Madison in 1982. She was a member of Winfred UCC Ladies Aid, held many offices in the church. She was also a member of the extension club, flower club and Winfred American Legion Auxiliary. The family will be present at 7:00 pm on Friday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
