Bill Doblar 12-08-2008
Bill Doblar, age 77, died at Daughtery Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
He was born on May 9, 1931 at Madison, SD to Bert and Mary (May) Doblar. He married Mary Peck at Pipestone, MN on June 1, 1953.
He is survived by his wife - Mary of Madison. Four sons - Mike of Wentworth, SD, Steve (Kim) of Omaha, NE, Jim of Duluth, MN, and Bill J. (Tess) of George West, TX. Five daughters - Patty (Dave) Foley, Teresa Stitz, Betsy (Craig) Shoemaker and Peggy (Lonny) Corbin all of Madison and Pam (Joel) Skinner f Rochester, MN. 32 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Four brothers - Joe of Wentworth, Allen of Yellow Stone, WY, John and Rick both of Madison. Nine sisters - Virginia Ebsen of Madison, Kathleen Haynes of St. Paul, MN, Rose Stahl and Mary Ann Mierau both of Sioux Falls. Joan Ratzloff of Pipestone, MN, Carol Betz, Roxi Burns and Connie Hemmer all of Colorado Springs, CO, and Sharon Hemmer of Wentworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, December 12, 2008 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church with Rev Robert Vinslauski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He grew up in Madison and farmed west of Madison all of his life. He also drove truck for Lance Trucking in Volga, SD.
He was a member of the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus. He had a private pilot license and was a member of the Short Wing Piper Club.
There will be a parish scripture service to be followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:00 PM on Thursday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel.
