Agnes Schwenk, age 92, died at Brookings Hospital in Brookings on August 23, 2008 Agnes Keir Croisant was born on July 7, 1916 in Saskatchewan, Canada to George and Joan (Stenhouse) Croisant. She married Sydney Schwenk in London, England on December 21, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1997. She is survived by one son - Terry (Ellen) of Brookings. four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. four sisters - Kate Hanneman and Alice (Vern) Schoeberl both of Madison, Joan Cole of Gulfport, MI and Mabel Fritz of Johnstown CO. She was also preceded in death by her parents - one daughter - DeeAnn in 1993 four brothers, Clarence, Henry, Ernie and Chuck. Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Weiland Funeral Chapel with Rev Marilyn Spurrell officiating. Burial will be in Ramona Cemetery, Ramona, SD. She moved to Ramona area with her family in 1920. She graduated from Madison High School in 1936. In 1937 she moved to England and worked as bus conductress and a fire dispatcher during WWII. In 1946 they moved back to Ramona where they ran a gift shop and antique store. She also worked as a nurses aid at Bethel Home from 1978 until 1986. She was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church (EUB) in Ramona.
