Earl Goebel, age 88, formerly of Oldham and Madison, SD, died at Golden Living Care Center in Arlington, SD on April 1, 2008. He was born on September 27, 1919 in Jasper County, Illinois to Edward and Dora (Behrns) Goebel. He married Rita Steinert at Madison on October 15 1994. He is survived by nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law - Flossie Goebel of Newton, ILL. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Weiland Funeral Chapel in Madison, SD with Rev Warren Uecker officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. He grew up in Jasper County, ILL and farmed there until he moved to Oldham in 1971. He farmed and raised livestock near Oldham until he moved to Madison in 1982. He has been a resident Golden Living in Arlington since 2000.
