Freddie Williams 03-31-2008
Freddie Williams, age 90, died at Golden Living Center on March 31, 2008.
Fred Roger Williams was born on March 16, 1918 in Madison to David and Eva (Davis) Williams. He grew up by Junius and attended school there graduating from Madison High School in 1935. He married Lucille Byrne at Madison on October 2, 1942. He served in the US Army during WW II. He worked for the Farmers Lumber Company for 13 years, managed Freddie’s Paint Store for Henry and Arleen Amert for 8 years. He retired as custodian from East Hall at Dakota State University.
He was a member of St Thomas Aquinas Church and the American Legion.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at St Thomas Aquinas with Rev Robert Vinslauski officiating. Burial with mlitary honors will be held in Graceland Cemetery.
There will be a parish scripture service at 7:30 pm on Tuesday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel.
He is survived by his wife - Lucille of Madison and may nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers - Walter, Dan, David, Dewey, Hugh , Raymond and Clayton and three sisters - Mabel Thompson, Effie Wagner and Murlie Pitts.
