Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at St Thomas Catholic Church in Madison, SD. There will be a Parish Scripture service at 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel. Constance Jane Porter was born at Mt Vernon on December 29, 1927 to Howard and Edna (Ferber) Porter. She married Clifford Foley at Madison on July 17, 1950. She died early friday morning at Stanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls at the age of 79. She grew up in Mt Vernon graduating from high school in 1945. She attend General Beadle (Dakota State University). She graduate from North West Institute of Technology in Minneapolis. She worked as a lab technician at the Madison Community Hospital from 1948 until 1952. She also worked part time at the Madison Clinic. She was a member of St Thomas Altar Society, former member of the St Thomas School Board and a member of St Michael Parish in Sioux Falls. She was active on the PTA at SD School for the Blind. They were 1984 parents of the year at the University of South Dakota. She is survived by her husband- Cliff of Sioux Falls. Four sons - Richard (Kate ) and Daniel (Lynn) of Sioux Falls, David (Patty) of Madison and Thomas “Tony” (Jan) of La Grange, IL. Three daughters - Deborah (Mark Forrestal) Foley of Palatine, IL. Rochelle “Chelle” (Steve) Hart and Constance “Connie” (Ron) McCann of Sioux Falls. 13 grandchildren. two great grandchildren. sisters in law - Collette Hofer and Jeanne Schrader. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister in law - Mary Beth. Memorial may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
