Dorothy Mikel, age 84, died at Golden Living Center on January 12, 2007. She was born on September 14, 1922 at Howard, SD. She married Kenneth Mikel at Hartington, NE on February 14, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1991. She is survived by three sons - Marlin (Sherry), Jerry (special friend - Sonya Keegan) and Jim (Kathy) all of Madison. five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, five great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. One brother - Rodney (Donna) Faller of Sioux Falls. She was also preceded in death her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Madison with Rev Marilyn Spurrell officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. She grew up in the Howard/Canova area graduating from Howard High School. They farmed North of Ramona until moving to Madison in 1973. She worked at the Madison Daily Leader, Madison Community Hospital and was a senior companion. She also was a member of Prairie Village Auxiliary, Interlakes Senior Citizen and various card clubs and circles. The family will be present at 7:00 PM on Monday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
