Fred C Thurow, age 80, formerly of Ramona, SD died at the Madison Community Hospital. He was born on October 8, 1925 at Ramona to Fred F and Matta (Hageman) Thurow. He married Noelene Sullivan on August 12, 1945 at Ramona, SD. He is survived by his wife - Noelene of Madison and one son - Bill (Mary Jo) of Ramona and three daughters - Marlys (Dennis) Harris of Northfield, MN, Marcia (Kevin) Gaustad of Rochester, MN and Leisa (Bill) Pusl of Sioux Falls, SD. Nine grandchildren. One sister - Elda Holcomb of Floresville, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons - Dick in 1956, Jeff in 1960 and Douglas in 1974 and one sister. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 8, 2006 at St Williams Church in Ramona with Rev Michael Schneider officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He grew up near Ramona graduating from Ramona High School in 1943. He farmed the family homestead near Ramona until moving to Madison in 1996. He also did custom corn shelling. He served on the Ramona School Board for 12 years. He also served on the St Williams Cemetery Board. There will be a parish scripture service at 7:00 pm on Wednesday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
