Frances Redfield

Frances Redfield, age 88, died at Madonna Towers Nursing Care Facility in Rochester, MN on March 21, 2006. Frances Bernice Stillwell was born on November 4, 1917 at Wentworth,SD to Thomas and Elizabeth (Lovely) Stillwell. She married Paul Redfield on July 31, 1943. He preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by three sons - Paul of Rosemount, MN, Shawn of Phoenix, AZ and John of Shakopee, MN. Three daughters - Mary (Edward Chesleck) Redfield of Melbourne, FL, Elizabeth Redfield of Sioux Falls, SD and Margaret (James Utz) Redfield MD of Rochester, MN. 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons - Tom in 1986 and a son - Barry in infancy, one brother and one sister. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at St Thomas Aquinas Church with Rev Bob Vinslauski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She grew up in Wentworth graduating from Wentworth High School in 1937. She received a teaching certificate from Eastern State Normal School (DSU) in 1939 and she taught at various area schools. She also worked for Interlakes Community Action for many years retiring in 1989. After retirement she volunteered as a teachers aid at St Thomas School. She moved to Rochester in 1994. She was a member St Thomas Altar Society, AAUW and served on the SD Senior Advisory Committee. There will be Parish Scripture service at 7:30 pm on Friday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
