Marie “Betty” Wiseman, age 80, died at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls. Marie Elizabeth Baumiester was born on December 12, 1925 at Canova, SD to Frank and Ethel (Gosmire) Baumiester. She married Maynard Wiseman at Madison on August 10, 1947. She is survived by her husband - Maynard of Madison and three sons - Lee (Sherrie) of Cheyenne, WY, Brian (Ann) of Sioux Falls and Gerry of Dallas, TX. eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son - Randy in 1993, one brother and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at St John Lutheran Church in Madison. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. She grew up in Canova and Winfred graduating from Winfred High School. She received a teaching certificate from Eastern State Normal School (DSU) and taught for several years in area schools. They lived in Junius where they ran a grocery store and she served as postmaster. She was a member of St John WELCA, Lady Elks and Red Hatters. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 pm on Friday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
